This policy explains what data we collect when you use Margino, how we use it, and your rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. What data we collect

We do not require you to create an account or submit any personal information to use the Margino calculator. The tool runs entirely in your browser - no calculation data is transmitted to or stored on our servers.

We do collect the following data automatically when you visit our site:

• Usage and analytics data - pages visited, time on site, device type, browser, approximate location (country/city level), referral source. Collected via Google Analytics 4.
• Session recordings and heatmaps - anonymised recordings of how you interact with pages, mouse movements, and clicks. Collected via Microsoft Clarity.
• Technical data - IP address, browser type and version, operating system. Collected automatically as part of standard web traffic logging.

3. Cookies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate analytics and session recording tools. These are set by third-party services (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) when you visit the site.

You will be asked for your consent to non-essential cookies when you first visit. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies and declining on your next visit. Declining analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use the calculator.

We use the following third-party services which may process data about your visit:

7. Data retention

Analytics data collected via Google Analytics is retained for 14 months by default, after which it is automatically deleted. Microsoft Clarity session data is retained for up to 13 months. We do not store any calculator input data.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict processing
• Withdraw consent at any time
• Lodge a complaint with the ICO (Information Commissioner's Office) at ico.org.uk
